Ultimate Dallas Tailgate Party

One of the season’s hottest dining events, the 10th Annual Taste of the NFL: The Ultimate Cowboys Tailgate Party, presented by Nationwide Insurance, is this Sunday (May 18) at the Glass Cactus Nightclub and the North Texas Food Bank needs your help feeding children during its “hungriest season.” 

During the summer, low-income children don’t have access to the free or reduced cost meals that they rely on during the school year – the Taste of the NFL event benefits the NTFB’s Child Feeding Programs that work to supply food to the 1 in 4 children across North Texas who are hungry and this local event alone has provided more than 2 million meals to hungry North Texas children through feeding programs like Food 4 Kids since its inception in 2005.

So this Sunday, the community is invited to wear boots and bling to party with a purpose and tackle hunger along with Dallas Cowboys past and present and 18 of the Metroplex’s hottest chefs (Including event host and Abacus Chef / Proprietor, Kent Rathbun) who will be cooking up delicious gourmet food for an incredible evening of live and silent auctions featuring once-in-a-lifetime items (like a Texas Rangers VIP Experience for four, complete with batting practice, dinner with the General Manager, John Daniels, and throwing out the ceremonial first pitch!), signature cocktails and music.

Participating Chefs include Kent Rathbun of Abacus, Eric Brandt of Bistro 31, David Holben of Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse, Abraham Salum of Komali Restaurant, Tim McLaughlin of Lockhart Smokehouse, James Johnson of Pappas Bros. Steakhouse, and T.J. Lengnick of Shinshei, among many others.
