Mayor’s Star Council Presents “Dallas’ Rising Stars”

May 12th event to celebrate emerging leaders’ work including support of GrowSouth initiatives and Dallas ISD leadership academy

On May 12th the Mayor’s Star Council (MSC), a leadership organization focused on learning, connecting and serving the city, will host an event to support the mission and impact the organization has built in Dallas. The Dallas’ Rising Stars event will support the long-term potential of the Mayor’s Star Council, as well as feature a group of amazing high school students from Dallas ISD, who are members of a leadership academy started by MSC last year called the Mayor’s Rising Star Council (MRSC).

The Mayor’s Star Council invites all members of the public interested in supporting a better future for Dallas ISD students and who are committed to seeing the full potential of Dallas realized. Guests will have an opportunity to see how MSC has impacted various communities since its inception in 2012, and learn how to get involved in its work.

MSC Project co-chair, Joli Robinson, commented, “Support of and for the next generation of leaders is absolutely critical in building a strong foundation for our city’s future. The opportunity to pour our time and talents into the students of the Mayor’s Rising Star Council allows for very real, lasting, and meaningful impact in these communities.”

The Dallas’ Rising Stars event will feature leaders of the Mayor’s Star Council and an in-depth look at how the organization supports the GrowSouth Initiative. The evening will highlight the work of some of the extraordinary students of the MRSC and how they are becoming leaders of change in their communities.

About the Mayor’s Star Council

Established in 2012, the Mayor’s Star Council is made up of a group of diverse leaders from the ages of 25-40 that come from seven different areas of cultural and professional influence. This group has accepted the challenge from our Mayor to be civically engaged in the challenges the city faces rather than inheriting them in the future. Our mission is to empower leaders to impact our city. For more information, visit www.mayorstarcouncil.org.
