Dallas Tent City Relocation Begins Tomorrow with First Responder, Dallas LIFE Homeless Shelter. On Location Taking Veterans and Families First.

What: 24hrs after city posted “No Trespassing” signs, Dallas LIFE to the first area shelter to start relocation of homeless veterans and families from Dallas Tent City to its 100,000 sq. ft. facility.   A move backed by The Cedars Neighborhood Association, Downtown Farmers Market Association and Veterans Resource Center.

Transportation, housing and optional enrollment in the ‘Homeless No More’ rehabilitation program will be provided.  A program Texas Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson, co-chair of the National Homeless Caucus, calls, “Best example of a homeless recovery program I’ve ever seen.”

Who: Executive Director Bob Sweeney and staff.  Dallas LIFE, the largest homeless shelter in North Texas.

Why:  This area shelter has the most available beds, and only family rooms available, to adequately address the Dallas Tent City issue. ‘Homeless No More’ rehabilitation program has a 90% success rate, one of the highest in the nation.

Who Should Attend:  Any press.

When:  Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 9:00am, rain or shine.

Where:  Dallas Tent City.  I45 & Good Lattimer.  Good Lattimer & Dawson Street under I45 is the most convenient place to turn into tent city.  Park across the street.
